Earth and Beyond

Semester 2

Do you wonder how the universe and our Earth was formed? What processes have formed our terrain and built our natural resources? What can we learn from ancient civilisations' knowledge of the night sky? What are the chances that other planets in our galaxy that could sustain life?

This subject will explore these questions and more using 3 broad topics:

1. Ancient astronomy

2. Earth – cycles and spheres

3. Our place in space

This multidisciplinary subject offers students a pathway into VCE Environmental Science, Geography and Physics as well as incorporating key skills and knowledge from core Science and Humanities (Geography) of the 7-10 Victorian curriculum. This is for students who are interested in Space Science, Physical Geography and the environment.
