Exploring the process of mummification
Entry Humanities
semester 1 or 2
Purpose
To introduce students to the diversity of the humanities in an exciting and engaging way. This will provide Entry students with a taster of the different pathways they may choose when entering the FLE.
Content
Over the semester, students will explore different aspects of the humanities including History, Geography, Civics and Citizenship. Together we will look at:
Ancient Civilisations (Egypt, Greece, Rome and others)
Weather patterns and natural disasters
Medieval Europe
Creating our own countries
Skills
Students will engage with skills associated with each specific subject while exploring different topics and ideas.
This course will provide students with a way of looking at the past and making meaning from it, as well as giving them opportunities to engage with their own passions and interests.
It will allow them to better understand the world around us and how weather patterns and natural disasters occur.
It will also allow them to critically engage with ideas around politics, religion, and government when we create our own countries.
