EAL - FLE to Pre VCE

EAL - FLE to Pre VCE aims to improve the English literacy of students from non-English speaking backgrounds. It is designed to develop communication skills, enable students to access all areas of the curriculum and participate more confidently in the general community, as well as preparing them for VCE EAL. The course will consist of various speaking, listening, reading and writing activities. A main focus of the course will be vocabulary acquisition and grammar.

Students will read and study a variety of text types and participate in individual and group activities. Students will participate in a film study, a novel study and learn about a variety of language features. They will complete tasks for different purposes, such as text response essays, oral presentations, narrative writing, recounts, procedural writing and informative writing. Students will also undertake independent reading.
