Corrective Reading

This reading intervention is an explicit, evidence-based reading intervention that we are running at Templestowe College. This is an invite only subject, but if you think you (or your child) would benefit from this subject please contact Tim Sproule (through Teams or email: tspr@tc.vic.edu.au) to organise a placement test.
There are four levels to the program which correct many of the ineffective reading strategies that struggling readers have been taught in primary school. This program teaches them to properly decode words of increasing complexity as well as improving their speed and reading accuracy.
We have had great success with this program this year and can’t wait to expand it to help all students become competent readers that are able to meet the literacy demands of high school.
